July saw a 7% increase in wood exports compared to the previous month. According to data compiled by WoodFlow from ComexStat, monitored products totaled 638.6 thousand cubic meters in July, up from 596 thousand cubic meters in June.

However, the total value paid for exported products decreased by 10% when comparing July to June. While June saw an upward trend, accumulating $154.6 million, July registered $148.9 million.

According to Gustavo Milazzo, CEO of WoodFlow, despite the slight increase in volume, this rise in exports is still a result of the adjustments that entrepreneurs, particularly those in the southern part of the country, had to make to adapt to port conditions. "Our crisis with the availability of shipping windows at ports began last year, and we are still experiencing the effects of it. Business owners do not report an increase in sales. However, they emphasize that the adjustment of wood shipping routes is now more aligned with our needs, which is reflected in the exported volume," said Gustavo.

Products in July

In July 2024, the main exported product was Coniferous Sawn Wood, accounting for 39% of the total volume. Hardwood Logs followed in second place (30%), with Coniferous Plywood coming in third (27%).

Prices
The prices dropped by 10% compared to June 2024. The highest amount paid was for Coniferous Plywood ($59.2 million USD), followed by Coniferous Sawn Wood ($53.9 million USD).
